"Worries & Fears"

Have you ever thought about, I mean really thought about, or worried about any of these things:

Money, making the ends met for a month, or whether you will have any money for your retirement, or how to pay a light bill, or how to buy groceries to feed the babies, or how to pay a doctor bill, or how to buy clothes for the children, or how to buy tires for the car that are slick, etc.....

Health, am I going to be the 1 in 4 of my family that gets cancer, am I going to live to be old, or will the Lord call for me to come be with HIM in my 20's, 30's, 40's, am I or my spouse going to have a heart attack, am I going to have to be put in a nursing home, will I have to care for my parents as they age, etc....

Job, is the downward economy going to cause me to lose my job, will I have a job tomorrow, next week, next year. Will I be able to find another job, do my co-workers like me, or are they really that cold-hearted, will I get that promotion promised, will I get a raise this year, etc.....

Career, as I graduate high school what now, where do I go to college, who is my roommate, what classes do I take, what degree do I go for, what if I don't like my classes and teachers, what if I don't like my career choice, etc.....

Family, is my family(parents, children, spouse, grandchildren, siblings) ever going to get saved, or live for the Lord, is my parents going to acknowledge God and what He has done for them, is Mom and Dad going to stay together, who is Mom or Dad going to remarry, will I like them, who will I date, or marry, will I go through a divorce, what if God don't bless me with children, what will my grandcildren have to face, etc......

Country, what is going to happen to our nation, will we get terriozed agian on our soil, will our nation fail, and if it does will I see it, etc......

The list could go on and on. These are just a few things that I thought of real quick. As I was doing my Bible Study for today it was on "Worries and Fears" I ran a lot of scriptures that deal with worrying and fears. I immediately wanted to share them with you. I am not going to post the scriptures, but only where they are. I find that I get more out of Bible Study if I look them up for myself.

Psalm 37:1,7,8, Psalm 55:4, Psalm 139:23, Psalm 56:3, Psalm 91: 5, Psalm 112:7
Matthew 6:30- 31, Matthew 6:34, Proverbs 12:25, John 14:27

There are many more in the Bible but this is enough to make us think about what we are doing by worrying or being afraid.

The time we spend worrying is a waste of time, (once time is gone we never get it back to relive it) and we could be spending that time praying and reading the Bible more. Because when we worry we are not focused on God but on SELF. I am as guilty as anyone to get worried over things that don't matter but these sciprutres today have reminded me to let God.

I want to close with Psalms 115 :3
But our God is in the heavens; He hath done whtsoever He hath pleased. and
Isaiah 55:8

For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.

I've Got A Lot To Thank Him For

If the World Were a Village of 100 People

If we could reduce the world’s population to a village of precisely 100 people, with all existing human ratios remaining the same, the demographics would look something like this:

· The village would have 60 Asians, 14 Africans, 12 Europeans, 8 Latin Americans, 5 from the USA and Canada, and 1 from the South Pacific
· 51 would be male, 49 would be female
· 82 would be non-white; 18 white
· 67 would be non-Christian; 33 would be Christian
· 80 would live in substandard housing
· 67 would be unable to read
· 50 would be malnourished and 1 dying of starvation
· 33 would be without access to a safe water supply
· 39 would lack access to improved sanitation
· 24 would not have any electricity (And of the 76 that do
· have electricity, most would only use it for light at night.)
· 7 people would have access to the Internet
· 1 would have a college education
· 1 would have HIV
· 2 would be near birth; 1 near death
· 5 would control 32% of the entire world’s wealth; all 5 would be US citizens
· 33 would be receiving --and attempting to live on-- only 3% of the income of “the village”

I saw this posted on another blog(thanks Colby)and have been thinking that I have a lot to be thankful for and that I take so much for granted. How about you?

20 Little Words

He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.
Proverbs 25:26

If you have not ever read a Proverbs chapter for each day of the month give it a try you might like it. I read Proverbs 25 this morning and the last verse of the chapter spoke to me and went right along with my daily devotion from Managing Your Moods.

We really can't use the excuse that so many of us have used "this is how God made us so this is how I am". God expects us to be ever changing to be more like Him. I need to be more like God today, than yesterday, than the week before. With God I can transform daily and in ever situation and be more like Him.

I don't about you, but I strive to be more like HIM and the Bible is a mirror for my life and many times I don't like what I see. That is not enough just to not like what I see, I must do something about it. After all God bought me with a price, and my life is not my own it is HIS.

Until Next Time

I'm Tired...

The last couple of days have been extremely busy with many things that must get accomplished. AS hard as I try not to, I do get stressed about all that must get done sometimes. It is sometimes hard for me to focus on one task at a time, and only do one thing at a time and not think about what all else I need to be doing. And there is only 1 of me, but do you suppose the world would stop spinning if I did not get it all done?

Today I went out to our CARE Ministry at church, stopped by Wal-mart and bought a few groceries because we were out of Diet Sun-Drops, milk and fruit cocktail. Clayton will need milk when he is here tomorrow, and he and his Popa really, really, really love fruit cocktail. The kind that has extra cherry juice in it is the best. And the hubby was out of Diet Sun- Drops. I came home and cooked lunch, baked two runs of cupcakes for the youth tomorrow at church, worked on the newsletter for church tomorrow, worked on the internet raido, washed clothes and it is only 4 o'clock. Left still to do today, finish the newsletter, and the radio programs, cook supper, fo print the newsletter and whatever else I can get into.

Anyway, I am very thankful for much today. I could not have a church to go to that has a caring ministry, I could not have a husband that needs things form Wal-mart, or a grandson to spoil by making sure he has milk and fruit cocktail at Grams house. I could not have any clothes to wash, or food to cook meals with , or youth in our church, or be involved in an internet radio minsitry that reaches around the world so others can hear the gospel preached. I could not have a GOD THAT LOVES ME SO MUCH BY BLESSING ME WITH ALL OF THESE THINGS, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY A GOD WHO LOVES ME ENOUGHT TO DIE FOR MY SINS.

Although, I am tired I can find MANY things to Thank God for in the midst of all the tasks that need to be completed.

Oh What a Savoir

If you are in NEED of a Blessing from the Lord today go check out these two YouTube Videos and songs. One is to the song by Stuart Townend with video to it which is an excellent song. Listen to it and take a few minutes to think about what God did for you and for me and His love towards US.

How Deep the Fathers Love For US

This song is the song Redeemer by Nicole C Mullen but the video is about a father that races triathlons with his handicapped son every step of the way.(think about what God and yourself and how we are challenged and He carries us through everything, and HE makes the way)If you want to know more about this story google it, it really is an amazing story.

I trust that these will bless you today and you will be able to take a few minutes of your day to think on what God has accomplished in your like through His salvation alone. When I think about what God has done for me, nothing else really matters and my whole day becomes focused on HIM.

For I know MY Redeemer Liveth

Redeemer by Nicole C Mullen

Who taught the sun where to stand in the morning?
And Who told the ocean you can only come this far?
And Who showed the moon where to hide 'til evening?
Whose words alone can catch a falling star?

Well I know my Redeemer lives
I know my Redeemer lives
All of creation testifies
This life within me cries
I know my Redeemer lives yeah

The very same God that spins things in orbit
Runs to the weary, the worn and the weak
And the same gentle hands that hold me when I'm broken
They conquered death to bring me victory

Now I know my Redeemer lives
I know my Redeemer lives
Let all creation testify
Let this life within me cry
I know my Redeemer, He lives

To take away my shame
And He lives forever, I'll proclaim
That the payment for my sin
Was the precious life He gave
But now He's alive and
There's an empty grave

And I know my Redeemer lives
I know my Redeemer lives
Let all creation testify
Let this life within me cry
I know my Redeemer,

I know my Redeemer
I know my Redeemer lives
I know my redeemer lives
I know that I know that I know that I know that I know my redeemer lives
Because He lives I can face tomorrow
I Know I know
He lives he lives yeah yeah I spoke with him this morning
He lives he lives, the tomb is empty,
He lives I gotta tell everybody

This song has been on my heart this afternoon, and I have gone to Youtube a couple of times and listened to it because I do not own a copy of it, but plan to get a CD one day soon. Then I went to Job 19: 25-27 and read it. What a God I serve, I sure am glad that YOU LIVE!!!

16 Words

My memory verse for this time came from Isaiah 55:8, "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord".

How many times does a child pitch a fit or a temper tantrum because he does not get what he wants and how many times do we as adults pitch a fit or a temper tantrum because things do not go our way. This little verse is only 16 words, and only 11 different words but it takes us a lifetime to try to live it. If I could learn in each situation, that it is about what God wants and not what I want I might begin to take a step forward and not always two backward.

Talking about taking steps, Clayton is walking all over the place. He spent the night with us last night and tonight while Mom and Dad went to Pigeon Forge for some R& R. He is beginning to crawl less and less, give him another week or so and crawling will be a thing of the past. Gram and Popa have really enjoyed a less than busy day with him.

Proverbs 14:29 & 29:22

As I was working though my bible studies today this is the two scriptures that spoke to me. I read them over a few times, together. Then I went and looked in the dictionary a few of the words in the verses to see the exact meaning of them to better understand these verses.

I looked up folly, and abound.Oh Me, Oh My! I have had to asked the Lord to help me take my heart, mind and life captive to HIM. Because as John 3:30 states "He must increase, but I must decrease" and to do this I must strive to be more like HIM. I am afraid that I am guilty of not being slow to wrath many times, and have acted foolishly and sinful. I have asked the Lord to forgive me and to help me act more like HIM in all situations. (M&M Mommy this really was my Bible study today, I think the Lord is trying to work in our lives for us both to post about the same things).
Go read these verses and lets think on them together and live them in our lives and let me know how the speak to you because they really have worked in my heart today?

I hope all is having a wonderful week, and that all is going well.

Bible Studies

I have become a big fan of organized bible studies. What I mean by that is a personal bible study book that gets you in the Word looking up scriptures, and thinking about the Word of God. This year I have tried to be more diligent about reading Gods Word, studying and praying. For me to read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation becomes mundane and just like reading another book. I want more out of the Bible than that. And for me to learn from Gods word I have to be repetitious. Unless it is a short book of the bible I get bogged down, on what God is saying, doing, and how I need to apply it to me life.

So in my commitment to Gods word I have begun using bible studies books, and I am always on the look out for news one. I want them to be thought provoking, scripture for me to look up, and questions for me to think about and places to write my thoughts down to what I am studying. I wanted to share with you the one I am working on right now. Tell me about the ones that you like.

"Just Follow Your Heart"

Today, as I was working in my Bible Study I am reminded that a lot of what we are taught or what we think we know may not line up with Gods Word. I have been studying about our moods and the heart. How we can control our moods, because it is a choice we make and what God has to say about our Heart. May I just say that the Bible is full of scriptures on the heart.

Proverbs 28:26 "He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool, but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered".

Mark 7:21-23 "For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness, All these evil things come from within, and defile the man."

Deut 11:16, I Samuel 16:7 and the list goes on and on.

How many times have we heard the phrase for any situation"just follow your heart". After doing my Bible Study this morning I don't think that is such a good idea any longer, I need to just follow the LORD. I want to have a clean, pure, compassioante, tender, teachable heart for the Lord

Luke 6:45

"A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good: and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh."

Well yesterday was scripture day again, and I did not post nor did I get my scripture memorized. For some reason, I thought I had a few more days to memorize this scripture. But, I have been thinking on it all week, and trying to practice it in my life. When I ran across this scripture in my bible study it spoke volumes to me, and the more I studied the more I learned that what is in the heart will come out of our mouths and will also be in our actions. I want my heart clean, how about you?

I also learned that this scripture is also in the book of Matthew 12:35. It is not identical, but almost. So that must mean that it is really, really important.

Bloggin friends I will get this memorized in the next couple of days. However, I will do better next time.

In Christ
Joan
